Chopshop Music proudly presents the benefit album
“RE:birth”
Japan makes a superhuman effort to heal its wounds from the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami that struck on 11 March. The broadcasted images have been a great shock for people all over the world, who watched in awe the unfolding of cataclysmic events. Fifteen artists, Chopshop Music, Curve Pressings and Junodownload joined forces to create a benefit album as a symbolic, but also practically useful gesture.
Martin Brodin, The Dead Rose Music Company, Dj Palov, Space Ranger, Tal M Klein and his Disco Builders and many others contributed to this compilation that includes a range of styles and tempos, from percussive to sensual, afro-funk and slow-mo. All participants in the making of this album will donate 100% of the proceeds to the Japanese Red Cross.
Junodownload is our exclusive provider and partner for this release. A big thanks goes to London’s Curved Pressings (www.curvedpressings.com), and especially to Lawrie, the mastering engineer who provided all the work free of charge. Also, Chopshop Music expresses its gratitude to Shota Tanaka aka Beaten Space Probe and Sei Sugiyama, who conceived the compilation idea and produced the artwork for nothing in return.
Staying loyal to tradition, this Chopshop Music release offers a package that helps for a smooth crossing over music genres, with its DJ-friendly edits and originals that make people want to dance.

Happy New Year one and all

Well the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011 have been just great with loads happening here in “Appoland”.
2010 was a funny old year for me, with loosing two of my much loved family members i retreated to the studio and turned negative feelings into positive. Never before have i been so productive with over 30 re-edits, remixes and original tracks coming out.
2010 was also the year i added another record contract to my C.V. My original material will now be coming out on “Itchy Pig” records and 2011 looks to be quite a busy one for me with a few festivals already on the table and a few residencies at very select venues see me heading out to D.j again after a very long break, More news and dates on that to follow, as they say “Watch this space”.
Christmas was a great time for me and the family, spent very quiet and traditional, I was treated by my loved ones with a full studio update/upgrade. Its been a lot of years since I’ve been able to do that, new toys from amongst others “Novation” are crazy cool and dispite me still getting my head round advances in eqpt, the results are already self evident.

I’ve been lucky enough to receive “Track of the week” two months running by cool online magazine for all things musical, “Meme” http://www.mememagazine.com/

My remix of David Bowie’s -Space oddity was the 1st and is still causing quite a stir, then Tasmin Archers- Sleeping satalite hit track of the week.
Both of these can now be found in the re-edit section here.

And finally I’m now recording more original material under the guise of “The Koncept”, previews of which can be found over on soundcloud,
This project just like the original “Concept” project i did some 20 years ago will feature solo work and collaborations. again more news to follow.
So a very happy new year to you all and lets make 2011 a great year.
Blessings.
Keep the faith Appo.
